This dog is incredibly excited to meet Pluto at Disneyland

Ace, a guide dog in training, was on a trip at Disneyland in January when he couldn't contain his excitement.

He met Pluto, the famous Disney dog.

His volunteer trainer, Sandy Steinblums, can be heard on a Facebook video of the meet and greet asking Ace to "stay" and lay "down."

The Dodo reported that Steinblums gave some background for those who didn't know Ace's story in a comment.

"This puppy is one I raised (as a volunteer) for Guide Dogs of America (in California). He is training to be a guide dog for the blind. We went to Disneyland for a few hours as a socialization experience," Steinblums said. "What you didn't see after the 14-15 seconds of video where he settled in a "down" was his "down/stay" for a few minutes while Pluto tried to break his stay."

Steinblums said Ace started his formal training with the organization in January.

As a volunteer, she gets guide dogs socialized and gives them obedience training.

The trip to Disneyland gave Steinblums the opportunity to give Ace more real world training.

"I am proud of him and love the Disney characters for being so kind and helpful," she said.

After six to nine months of work with licensed trainers, Ace, like many guide dogs in training, will have the opportunity to graduate and be matched as a guide dog to a person in need.

Watch the video below.

Maryland's senate extends voting rights to all ex-convicts

Maryland’s Senate overturned its governor’s veto on a bill that makes felons eligible to vote as soon as they’re released from prison. (Video via WMAR)

Previous rules forced ex-convicts to wait until they were no longer on parole or probation. But now, more than 40,000 Maryland residents will get the right to vote right after their release.

Republican Gov. Larry Hogan vetoed similar bills in both the state’s House and Senate, but both vetoes were overruled by legislators Tuesday. (Video via WMAR)

Hogan wrote on Facebook that legislators "just voted to ignore the overwhelming majority of Marylanders by granting current felons the right to vote."

Hogan hasn’t really had much of a say in anything lately. Each of the six bills he vetoed in 2015 were overturned by the Democrat-dominated House.

Perry Hopkins, an ex-convict who advocated for the bill, told MSNBC: "From the minute you are released from prison, you are able to pay taxes, you are working to reintegrate back into society in a productive way, and you deserve the full rights of citizenship. It’s just that simple."

Democrats said the bill helps offenders reacclimate to society. They also claimed previous voting laws unfairly targeted black citizens who are more likely to face jail time. Almost two-thirds of those affected by the new rules are black.

The law will go into effect in March, giving those affected by it the chance to exercise their new right in time for the 2016 primary elections.
